Matt Hekking (They/He) is an actor, writer and creative from Acton, Massachusetts. As a kid his journey into the world of theater began as a nervous techie in the lighting booth. It was only after being confronted by his high school director that Matt finally gave acting a shot. The emotional freedom he found on-stage was intoxicating, and it wasn't long before Matt began what he would come to see as his life's work.

With the help of some friends and an after-school movie watching habit, he immersed himself in countless classic and arthouse movies, seeking to understand the magic behind great cinema. For him, that magic is emotional truth.

Matt believes that the mind/body connection is key to intuitive artistic expression, which he continues to explore through writing poetry, sketch comedy, and even full length scripts. He also sings, drums, plays guitar, and doodles in his journal - each with the intention of tapping into that same force of human truth.

Matt recently graduated summa cum laude from Rutgers University with a BFA in Acting, where he honed his craft and turned his passion into a disciplined daily practice. He is now proudly represented by CLA Partners. Matt has worked to develop several new plays. Notably, as Carl in Heavenly Fools by Amanda Horowitz (Rutgers), Ben in Wolf Pack by Sam Gibgera (Brick Aux).
